Robert Lau Hui Yew, a Malaysian aged 43, was appointed as Non-Executive Director of the Company on 9 June 2003.

A lawyer by profession, he is a Barrister-at Law and holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the University of Hull, United Kingdom.

From 1991 to 1993, he was an advocate and later became a partner of Messrs Stephen & Wong Advocates, now known as Messrs Stephen, Robert & Wong Advocates. Robert Lau is an active social worker and is currently a councilor with Sibu Municipal Council since 2004. He holds directorship in several public limited companies.

He is a major shareholder of the Company. He has no family relationship with any Director and is the son of Lau Swee Nguong @ Lau Sui Guang, a major shareholder of BLDP.

He is a member of the Remuneration Committee of the Company.
